Founded in 1999, the Global Certification Forum, known as GCF, is a partnership between mobile network operators, test laboratories, and mobile device manufacturers dealing with an independent certification program to ensure global interoperability among devices and network, by creating, discussing, and maintaining the compliance of devices in mobile networks with standards and specifications.
The GCF Certification delivers confidence to the global ecosystem to connect GCF certified products to networks and services. Also delivers the agreement and standards for Testing Mobile and IoT products ensuring high-quality level, reliability, and security of the devices operating in different networks worldwide.
The GCF Tests must be performed by a Testing laboratory accredited by GCF, known as Recognised Test Organisation (RTO). The accredited Laboratory that has demonstrated it possesses:
- Experience: technical understanding and experience on how to performing the GCF tests and ensuring the result of each test case, finding possible failures.
- Qualification: the required ISO 17025 accreditation to perform GCF test cases and the reliability and accuracy of the results of tests performed.
- System: besides the right infrastructure, a system prepared for consistent results and capable of tracking detailed information for narrowing down scenarios.
